It seems difficult to me to be able to love the AKITA without loving Japan, its country of origin, in so much that one does not go without the other.
The AKITA, as the image of the Japanese people, belongs to the entity of the land of the Rising Sun.
Just like a print, he associates harmony and balance.
The hardness of his character is equal only to his emotivity and his exacerbated sensitivity.
The AKITA is not a dog for everyone.
A calm companion, discret, a rare barker, affectionate and protective with his owners. He is nevertheless a dog with a strong and determined character. He is also dominate with other dogs.
His owner must invest effort into his education which must be early and firm but excluding any brutality.
An AKITA will never be completely submissive. But he will respect his owner and will be dedicated to him with an unabounded passion.
The AKITA fasinates. His charm is the reflection of his inner strength.
He carries in him the mystery of Japan, a complexity of spirit and a disconcerting sensitivity.
